3 ways Yoga creates calm in my life and how it will create calm in yours

You might already know that one of the main reasons I got hooked on Yoga was the effect it had on my stress and anxiety levels.


Unfortunately in today's way of life, a lot of us experience stress on a regular basis, where it is brought on by our environment, family, work or other reasons.

And stress has such a dramatic affect on our health mentally, but also physically. It can manifest itself in all sorts of ways and cause other issues in our minds and bodies.


So for me Yoga is such a key part of my life to help with everyday life stresses and to keep creating calm.



Here are the 3 ways Yoga creates calm in my life and how it will create calm in yours.


1. Yoga teaches us to slow our breath down, breathe fully, and calm and relax ourselves using our breath. It activates that all important parasympathetic nervous system that calms us down.


2. Yoga teaches us to give our mind a break. By focusing on our breath and creating that focus and stillness in our minds, it gives our minds a break from all the uncontrolled thinking our minds like to do.


3. The effects of regular Yoga keeps us calm in worrying or stressful situations. We don't automatically switch to the survival mode of thinking when we are in worrying or stressful times. We teach our brain to stay calm which is when we can think in a calm and measured way instead of panic.
